IRO Socializes New Programs of Erasmus Mundus

After successfully delivering 27 students and 8 lecturers to Europe through Erasmus Mundus program "Bridging the
Gap", International Relations Office of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) re-socialized its new program
"Let's Move Together (Mover)” and "One More Step (OMS)” in the BAU Hall, Friday (12/23). The event was attended
by UMM students and some representatives from student activity units.
“Mover” and “OMS” is the continuation programs of the Erasmus Mundus from 2011 to 2013. Although the programs
have the same project but they come with different background. "OMS organizes student exchange to Europe, while
Mover only accepts Indonesian students without sending students from Europe," said Assistant Rector for International
Cooperation UMM, Soeparto.
In these two programs, students can only choose one. "Design your courses well since international outlook will make
us be more open in attitude," said the English lecturer. The registration for these programs has been opened since
November 2011 and will be closed online in January 30, 2012.
Through the Erasmus Mundus program, UMM is connected with various universities in Europe and Asia. According to
Soeparto, in the program "Let's Move Together", UMM is connected with 15 universities in Europe and 12 universities
in Asia. The European partner universities are the University of Murcia (Spain), University of Porto (Potugal), University
of Oviedo (Spain) , University of Cagliari (Italy), Lublin University of Technology (Poland), University of La Rochelle

(France), University of Latvia (Latvia), Compostela Group of Universities (Spain) CARM (Spain) University of Alicante
(Spain), UNED (Spain), Casa Asia (Spain), Cyprus International University (Turkey), Psicologos Fronteras University
(Spain), Homofaber University (Spain).
Meanwhile, the Asian universities aside to UMM are Hunan Normal University (China), Lanzhou University (China),
Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia), University of Philippines (Philippines), University of Putra Malaya
(Malaysia), Hanoi University of Education (Vietnam), University of Madras (India), Sichuan International Studies
University (China), Yenepoya University (India) and University of International (China).
In the program "One More Step", UMM is connected with Universita Degli Studi in Trento (Italy), University of Innsbruck
(Austria), University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria), University of Eastern Finland (Finland),
Technical University of Dresden (Germany ), University of Murcia Spain, Warsaw School of Economics (Poland),
Universidade do Minho (Portugal), University of Oviedo (Spain).
In addition, the Asian universities are UMM, Mongolian University of Science and Technology (Mongolia), National
University of Mongolia (Mongolia), University of Laos (Laos), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam),
Vietnam National University Ho Chi Min City (Vietnam), Jilin University (China), Shanghai University (China), Sun Yat
Sen University (China), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Burapa University (Thailand), Chulalongkorn
University (Thailand), Universiti Sains Malaya (Malaysia) , Hanoi University of Transport and Communications
