  • – PSYCHOLOGY Lectures sessions Many interesting and very useful information I have learned by organizing the ideas for my master thesis while listening and mostly reading the book How people learn brain, mind, experience, and school (Bransford, J. D., Brown, A. L. & Cocking, R. R.) for this course. For instance, I would start referring to the basic implications for teaching and learning development regardless the subject of study. The three principles I want to implement for my research are mentioned in many different occasions in the book: 1.Being aware of preexisting concepts, which means taking into account the mental models and preconceptions that students have when starting a learning and interactive journey with teachers and classmates; 2.Deep foundation in factual knowledge. The idea is that students should know well the abstract concept of the theory, but also that they get to exercise such knowledge into a context of applicability. In other words, the knowledge is used in a a set of circumstances, developing from a general into a conditionalized knowledge. 3.Metacognitive activities. This aspect is related to being aware of what we are learning. Thus, it is important to understand what we learn and organize it in a way that we can easily apply it at a relevant moment. Metacognition as well can help clarify misinterpretation of new or previous concepts during groups’ tasks or self-assessment activities. If pupils define with their own words or by writing what they have understood during classes, it is certainly a more effective way for teachers to redirect pupils in case of misconceptions, but also if student

’s reflections are in the right track then teachers will have higher probabilities to reinforce their knowledge. The practice of self-assessment gives students the possibility to interconnect different concepts into a more complex mind maps, which simply means that knowledge is not inert and can be useful in many different environments. Zone of proximal development is another very crucial element used in teaching and learning relations, I also believe it is timesaving and smart effort used between teacher and student . Furthermore, my goal during my research and as a teacher methods, the deeper knowledge of my subject and the relations with my students regarding their talents and motivation to learn.
