Question 2 Read the following text. Then, answer questions (a)- (j).

PASSIONFRUIT - This tasty subtropical fruit is available all year round. Passionfruit is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C. The seeds are also a great source of dietary fibre, improving digestion and preventing constipation. Fibre also makes you feel fuller faster, which can help with weight control.

Passionfruit grows on vines and is harvested when about three quarters ripe. It will ripen at room temperature. When buying the fruit, look for passionfruit that is heavy and firm. If the skin is green, the fruit may not be ripe yet. As the fruit ripens, the skin will turn red, purple or yellow. Do not let ugly skin scare you off. Even if the skin looks dimpled or wrinkled, as long as the fruit does not feel too soft, it should be in good shape.

When the passionfruit is ripe, it can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week, or pulp can be frozen for up to three months. Spoon out the pulp and eat it plain, put it on ice-cream or add it to yoghurt. We can also strain passionfruit pulp, cook it over a medium heat in a saucepan for five minutes. Then we drizzle it over pavlova.

Here is a tip: we can easily remove the seeds by simply straining the pulp and juice through a cheese cloth or a non-aluminium sieve.

Just as he passed by a huge Casuarina tree, he heard a woman screaming. He stopped jogging and carefully headed towards the direction of the scream. To his horror, it was a robbery. He saw a man threatening a woman using a knife. The poor woman looked so frightened as the man placed a knife near her neck while he was tugging at her back.

Alex knew he had to do something to help the woman. He looked around and saw a pile of old branches under a tree and noticed a long wooden stick near it. He picked it up and sneaked towards the man. Before the man knew what was happening, Alex hit him on the head with the stick.

The man was hurt and shocked. The knife fell off his hands when he held his head as he cried in pain. The terrified woman saw Alex and quickly ran to his side. Luckily, a couple of joggers who saw the incident came to Alex’s aid and held back the man. It was not before a police car arrived at the scene and took the man away.
