ABSTRAK
Dewi Mega Ningrum, KIC 053192. Penilitian ini berjudul “Apresiasi
Pemirsa Terhadap Tayangan Opera Van Java (OVJ) di Trans7”, dengan subjudul
“Studi Deskriptif Mengenai Apresiasi Mahasiswa di Sekolah Tinggi Seni
Indonesia (STSI) Bandung Terhadap Tayangan Program Opera Van Java (OVJ )
di Tran7 Jakarta. Komisi pembimbing Dr. Atwar Bajari, Drs., M.Si sebagai
pembimbing utama dan Dr. Asep Sunarya, M.Si sebagai pembimbing pendamping
di Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apresiasi pemirsa terhadap
tayangan program Opera Van Java (OVJ) dilihat dari aspek kognitif, emotif dan
evaluatif.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik sampling
purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa / mahasiswi angkatan

2009/2010 jurusan teater Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia (STSI) yang berlokasi di
jl.Buah Batu no. 212 Bandung. Sedangkan teori yang digunakan adalah teori Uses
and Gratification.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pemirsa memiliki tingkat
pengetahuan (kognitif), perasaan (emotif), dan penilaian (evaluatif) yang tinggi
terhadap program Opera Van Java (OVJ).
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa apresiasi
pemirsa terhadap tayangan program Opera Van Java (OVJ) di Trans7 ditinjau dari
aspek kognitif, emotif dan evaluatif tergolong sangat tinggi. Penulis menyarankan
agar pihak Trans7 salalu memberikan inovasi pada tayangan ini, sehingga
program yang tayang hamper setiap hari ini tidak menjadi acara yang
membosankan bagi pemirsa.

ABSTRACT

Dewi Mega Ningrum, KIC 053192. This research is entitled “Appreciation
Of The Audience Towards Opera Van Java (OVJ) Show Program at Trans7 ”,

with subtitle “The Descriptive Studies of Sekolah Tinggi Seni Indonesia (STSI)
Student Bandung Appreciation Of The Audience Towards Opera Van Java (OVJ)
Show Program at Trans7 Jakarta”. The advisory committee are Dr. Atwar Bajari,
Drs., M.Si as the first advisor and Dr. Asep Sunarya, M.Si as the co-advisor,
Faculty of Communication Science of Padjadjaran University.
The main purpose of this research was to find out how the appreciation of
audience of television program Opera Van Java (OVJ) from cognitive, emotive,
and evaluative aspect.
The research used descriptive method with purposive sampling technique.
The research sample is year 2009/2010 majoring in theater Sekolah Tinggi Seni
Indonesia (STSI) at jl.Buah Batu no. 212 Bandung. Meanwhile, the theory that
uses in this research us Uses and Gratification Theory.
The result of research showed that an audience with the high level of

knowledge toward (cognitive), sense toward (emotive), and assessment
(evaluative) Opera Van Java (OVJ) program.
From the result of research can be pulled by conclusion that appreciation
of audience to Opera Van Java (OVJ) at Trans7 from cognitive, emotive, and
evaluative aspect is very high. The author suggests that Trans7 will continuously
create innovation to this program, so that this dialy program will not become
bored easily for the audiences.
