The major problem in this research paper is to explain How Sacrifice in
After Dark Novel. The purposes of this research paper are to analyze Sacrifice in
After Dark Novel (2004) based on the structural elements of the novel, to describe
Sacrifice in After Dark Novel(2004) based on individual psychological approach.
The object study is After Dark Novel by Haruki Murakami. It is using by
individual psychological approach. In analyzing this study, the writer uses
qualitative methodology of research and individual psychological approach. The
Primary data source of this research is the After Dark Novel by Haruki Murakami.
The secondary data sources are the author’s biography, essay, comment,

homepage, and website about the movie and other relevant sources.
Based on the individual psychological analysis, in After Dark novel,
Haruki Murakami describes how the sacrifice caused sleeping beauty of a girl
named Eri Asai who is the sister of the main character of the novel. It causes the
story become interesting. Because in the After Dark novel there is interesting
story, it is an aspect of sociality, which can be seen in community of brutality in
Japan, community of a hotel, where in this place the rooms are used by every
people. There are some characters who are from different worlds, but the night
brings them together in different problems. It is one of sociality in Japan. The
structures of After Dark novel contains inferiority feeling, striving for superiority,
fictional finalism, style of life, social interest and creative self.
