This experiment aims to determine the effect of mixture plant growth regulator on
breaking of ‘banjhi’ shoot dormancy of productive tea clone Gambung 9 as well
to determine the best concentration on breaking of ‘banjhi’ shoot dormancy.
There are two types of plant growth regulator that used, mixture of IAA 131 ppm,
kinetin 164 ppm and gibberellins 507 ppm and mixture of IAA 125 ppm, kinetin
98 ppm, zeatin 101 ppm, and gibberellins 113 ppm. The research was conducted
from April to July 2012 in The Research Institute for Tea and Cinchona,
Gambung. Experimental design used was Randomized Block Design of seven
treatments and replicated four times. The treatment were as follow without the
plant growth regulator (just water); mixture of IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm
and gibberellins 507 ppm with concentration 0,5 mL L-1; mixture of IAA 131
ppm, kinetin 164 ppm and gibberellins 507 ppm with concentration 1 mL L-1;
mixture of IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm and gibberellins 507 ppm with
concentration 1,5 mL L-1; mixture of IAA 125 ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101
ppm, and gibberellins 113 ppm with concentration 2 mL L-1; mixture of IAA 125
ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101 ppm, and gibberellins 113 ppm with

concentration 4 mL L-1; and mixture of IAA 125 ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101
ppm, and gibberellins 113 ppm with concentration 6 mL L-1. The result showed
that the treatments mixture of IAA, kinetin, zeatin, and gibberellins could not
breaking of ‘banjhi’ shoot dormancy. Mixture of IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm
dan gibberellins 507 ppm with concentration 0,5 mL L-1 gave the best and
efficiency for time to leaves open; and mixture of IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm,
dan gibberellins 507 ppm with concentration 1,5 mL L-1 gave the best effect for
leaf area at pecco with one young leaves (p+1m).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh campuran zat pengatur
tumbuh dalam mematahkan dormansi pucuk burung tanaman teh produktif klon
Gambung 9 serta mendapatkan konsentrasi campuran zat pengatur tumbuh yang

tepat untuk mempersingkat masa dormansi pucuk burung. Zat pengatur tumbuh
yang digunakan ada dua jenis yaitu campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm dan
giberelin 507 ppm dan campuran IAA 125 ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101 ppm,
giberelin 113 ppm. Waktu penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai
Juli 2012 di Pusat Penelitian Teh dan Kina, Gambung. Rancangan percobaan yang
digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), yang terdiri dari tujuh
perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuannya yaitu tanpa zat pengatur tumbuh
(hanya air); campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm dan giberelin 507 ppm
konsentrasi 0,5 mL L-1; campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm dan giberelin
507 ppm konsentrasi 1 mL L-1; campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm dan
giberelin 507 ppm konsentrasi 1,5 mL L-1; campuran IAA 125 ppm, kinetin 98
ppm, zeatin 101 ppm, giberelin 113 ppm konsentrasi 2 mL L-1; campuran IAA
125 ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101 ppm, giberelin 113 ppm konsentrasi 4 mL L1
, dan campuran IAA 125 ppm, kinetin 98 ppm, zeatin 101 ppm, giberelin 113
ppm konsentrasi 6 mL L-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian campuran
IAA, kinetin, zeatin, dan giberelin tidak mampu mematahkan dormansi pucuk
burung. Campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm dan giberelin 507 ppm
konsentrasi 0,5 mL L-1 merupakan perlakuan terbaik dan efisien untuk waktu daun
terbuka sempurna; dan campuran IAA 131 ppm, kinetin 164 ppm, dan giberelin
507 ppm konsentrasi 1,5 mL L-1 merupakan perlakuan paling baik dan efisien

untuk luas daun p+1m.
