ABSTRACT

Siti Fatimah, 2015. The Strategies of Government Tourism Office of
Karanganyar to Promote Karanganyar Tourism. English Diploma
Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, UNS.
This final project report was written based on the job training which
was done by the writer in Karanganyar Tourism Office on June 2014. The
objectives during the job training were to describe Karanganyar Tourism
Office, to identify the problem faced by the writer during the job training, to
find out the solution, and to describe the strategies of Tourism Office of
Karanganyar in promoting Karanganyar tourism.
The writer worked in four divisions of the Karanganyar Tourism
Office. They are cultural division, tourism marketing division, tourism
attraction division, and administration division. During the job training there
were many problems faced by the writer, such as translating tourism
brochures, answering telephone, visiting tourism attractions. The solutions to

solve the problems as follows: in translating brochures need an explanation
technique, answering the telephone needs to be supported by visiting
Karanganyar Tourism Office, and when visiting the tourism attractions in
Karanganyar the writer should be accompaniment by the staff to get more
information about the tourism attraction. In promoting tourism attraction,
Karanganyar Tourism Office has four strategies. They are promoting tourism
attraction, coordinating with other entertainment places, carrying out annual
“Putra-putri Lawu”, and holding local events and participating in national
events.
