Market Tone
Export prices remain unchanged from the previous week. Exporters are currently securing supplies of
white and fragrant rice to fulfill already contracted shipments, particularly to China in December. These
already contracted shipments have prevented domestic prices from further falling while main crop rice
supplies enter the market.
Rice Export Update
Unofficial and preliminary rice exports (excluding premium white and fragrant rice) for October 23-29,
2017, totaled 202,476 metric tons, down 49,498 metric tons from the previous week and up 909 metric
tons from the four-week moving average of 201,567 metric tons (Table 2). Rice exports from January 1
– October 29, 2017, totaled 7,535,035 metric tons.
End of Report.
