1. Terms and Conditions
• Open to all International and Malaysian citizens applying to Penang Medical College
• Applicants are expected to obtain, actual or predicted, a minimum of AAA at A-Levels or 40 points
excluding bonus points at IBDP or equivalent.
• Recipients of scholarships will be required to acknowledge the support provided by the scholarship
programme in presentations or publications resulting from receipt of the scholarships and act as
Student Ambassadors for the duration of the scholarships.
• Any scholarship recipient who has to repeat an academic year will forfeit the scholarship from that
point on and will cease to receive any financial support from PMC.
• Scholarships are applicable solely for the 5-year PMC Medicine programme with RCSI or UCD.
2. Declaration
1. I hereby verify that all information given in this application is complete, true and accurate to the best of
my knowledge and that the essays are my own compositions.
2. I hereby agree that Penang Medical College has the right to reverse any decision in respect of my
application, in the event that the information given is found to be incomplete, inaccurate or false.
3. I hereby agree that, if selected to be a scholarship recipient, I will act as Student Ambassador for
Penang Medical College and will do so to the best of my ability.

3. Essays
a. Please submit an essay on the following topic. This essay is compulsory and should contain 250 to 300
words.
Describe a personal achievement you are most proud of to date.
b. Please select one (1) only of the following topics to write on. Your essay should be between 250 to 300
words.
(i) In your opinion, is the internet a help or hindrance in the doctor-patient relationship?
OR
(ii) Who is your medical role model and why?
4. Reference Letter
Please provide a letter from someone who has worked closely with you and who would be able to support
you as being a worthy recipient of the scholarship. This person will not be the same as the general
academic referee. The letter may be from, for example, the school principal, a relevant senior volunteer or
a community leader.
5. Submission
