Abstract
Needs of the information system up to date database server encourage providers to build systems
with high availability levels in line with demand for the performance of a system that is 24 hours of
continuous work. Provider database server will think anyway impact and barriers in the provision of
services such as damage to hardware or software. Therefore, Microsoft in this case the Microsoft SQL
Server 2012 has a feature AlwaysOn failover cluster that is a solution to high availability in server
database where if one database server malfunction will directly occur over the functions to servers other
database so that the system keeps running properly.This research aims to design a network system in the
server database as a solution to overcome the failure of servers using Windows Server 2012 operating
system and to support the needs of the installed SQL Server 2012 also features that support AlwaysOn.
Abstrak
Kebutuhan sistem informasi yang up to date mendorong penyedia server database untuk
membangun sistem dengan tingkat availability yang tinggi sejalan dengan permintaan akan kinerja
suatu sistem yang 24 jam terus menerus bekerja. Penyedia server database akan memikirkan pula
dampak dan hambatan dalam penyediaan layanan seperti kerusakan hardware atau software. Oleh
karena itu Microsoft dalam hal ini Microsoft SQL Server 2012 mempunyai fitur AlwaysOn failover cluster
yang merupakan solusi high availability dalam server database dimana apabila salah satu server
database mengalami kegagalan fungsi akan secara langsung terjadi alih fungsi ke server database
lainnya sehingga sistem tetap berjalan dengan semestinya.Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang suatu
sistem jaringan dalam server database sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi kegagalan fungsi server dengan
menggunakan sistem operasi Windows Server 2012 dan untuk menunjang kebutuhan itu diinstal pula
SQL Server 2012 yang mendukung fitur AlwaysOn .
