Exercise of text 2
In autumn, yhe color of the leaves changes into beautiful yellow, red, and brown. Do you know
how this happens? To answer that question, first we have to understand about leaves.
Leaves are the food factories of plants. Plants take water from the ground through their roots
and they take carbon dioxide from the air. Plants needs glucose for energy and for their growth.
The plants use sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into glucose. The processis called
photsynthesis and the substance that helps this photosynthesis process is called chlorophyll. This
chlorophyll makes plants look green.
As summer ends and autumn comes, the days get shorter. The trees “ know” that they have to
be ready for winter. During winter, there is not enought sunlight or water for the photosynthesis
process. The trees will rest, and use the food that they have stored during summer. The trees begin
to close their food factories. The green clorophyll substance disappears from the leaves. As the
leaves begin to lose their green color, they change into beautifull yellow and orange.
In some trees, like maple tree, glucose is trapped in the leaves after the photosynthesis
process stops. Sunlight and cool rights turn the green color of the leaves into red. Oak leaves become
brown because of wastes that are left in the leaves. This combination of red and brown makes the
trees look very beautiful in autumn.

Oil deposits lie hidden deep beneath the surface of the earth. They have to be searched for.
The oil production process involves several steps.
First, explanation teams are sent by the oil companies to several regions to search for oil
deposits. If the exploration shows good results, the comany decides to drill a well. Thus, the
production phase begins.
At the beginning of the production phase, gas presure causes the crude oil to gush out with
great force. After some time, the gas pressure is less and a pumping station must be built to bring up
the oil.
Then, crude oil has to be transported to a refinery where the crude oil is processed and
refined into more useful petroleum products, such as gasoline, kerosene, diese fuel, lubricants and
asphalt. Further processing gives aviation fuel, greases, fertilizers, insecticide, man-made fibers, and
many other things.
The rising demand for oil product keep the oil companies busy exploring new oil field and
drilling new wells.

What makes the oil companies busy exploring new oil fields and drilling new wells?
Explain the generic structure of this text briefly and clearly
What do oil compainies do before the production step is taken?

Where do oil companies send the crude oil to get ready-to-use oil?
