Abstract
Nowadays, when technology and business matters occupy our life, people tend to be less
concerned about the nature. The less consideration about the nature leads people to be
careless about how human beings, plants, and animal should live together harmoniously. The
misuse of the development of technology endangers the population of animals, like elephants
which are becoming rare day by day. This paper attempts to define the meaning of ‘paradise
in the unharmonious world between human and nature in Coldplay’s music video “Paradise’
by using the ecocriticism perspective, an earth-centered perspective. The finding of this study
suggests that human beings should keep the environment and encourage the balance and
harmony in living, which was shown in the music video.
