Regional workshop on quality management system (QMS), biosafety and biosecurity practices
in laboratories in the WHO South-East Asia Region, Pune, India, 24 - 28 August 2015

Objectives
General
•

To strengthen quality management system and Biosafety, Biosecurity lab practices in
laboratories in South East Asia Region

Specific:
•

To review the current status of quality management system (QMS), Biosafety,
Biosecurity practices of public health labs and to understand existing challenges and
gaps in these areas;

•

To orient on implementation of laboratory quality system using laboratory quality
stepwise implementation (LQSI) tool, and

•

To draft an implementation plan of QMS and biosafety/ biosecurity practices with
timelines
