Welcome message from Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
To realize the vision of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
(henceforth, UPI) to be a Leading and Outstanding University
requires hard work from all of its academic members, as reflected in
various programs supporting the development of a sustainable and
solid academic culture. One of the activities contributing greatly to
the realization of the vision is international publication of both
Scopus- and Thomson Reuters-indexed journal and proceedings.
The International Conference on Sociology Education (ICSE), initiated by the Study
Program of Sociology Education, Faculty of Social Sciences Education, UPI, is an
inseparable part of the efforts of developing a solid academic culture that has to be
supported by other sustainable and positive activities that can contribute to the
achievements of UPI’s vision and missions. Furthermore, the articles to be presented in
this seminar will be published internationally.
Therefore, on behalf of Indonesia University of Education (UPI), I applaud the
committee for successfully organizing this conference that takes the theme of “Education
for Sustainability Development and Empowering Community,” held in the campus of
UPI on October 12, 2015. I express my great appreciation to the whole members of the

I am highly excited with the 1st UPI International Conference on
Sociology Education (UPI ICSE 2015) With theme Education for
Sustainability Development and Empowering Community
because it implies the academic honesty and excitement to take
into account the development process to more civilized and
benefical for all human beings and humanity. Through a series of
research with various perspectives. The researchers not only
“market” their ideas but also emphasizes the importance of
position the justice as a main principle for sustained development.
Justine in the development process and the use of benefits is the nearest way to wealth
and prosperity.
Right now. I am really glad because I can also present the seminar pro-siding to all the
readers. I hope that it is really advantageous and excels the next academic efforts. An

I applaud the conference committee for the organization of the
first International Conference on Sociology Education in UPI, to
be held on October 12, 2015, with speakers who are experts in
their respective fields. I am sure this conference will enlighten us
all, especially those who desire information and knowledge on
various experiences pertaining to the theme taken by the
conference, namely “Education for Sustainability Development
and Empowering Community.”
We are particularly proud of the articles to be presented in the conference that will be
published internationally by Atlantis Press in Advances in Social Science, Education and
Humanities Research (ASSEHR), ISSN 2352-5398, Indexed by: CPCI-SSH Thomson
Reuters and Google Scholar. The international publication is an opportunity as well as
a positive challenge that should be answered by the whole members of academic
community by being committed to The sharpening of their abilities to disseminatee
recent research results.
I personally express my gratitude to the whole committee members who have

International Conference on Sociology Education
Praise be to God the Almighty, the Most Merciful and the Most
Bountiful. It is only through His blessings that the Study
Program of Sociology Education, Indonesia University of
Education, is able to successfully organize its very first
international conference on October 12, 2015.
The 1st UPI International Conference on Sociology Education
(UPI ICSE 2015) is expected to be held biannually, and this year
we take the theme of “Education for Sustainability Development and Empowering
Community.”
UPI ICSE 2015 ultimately aims to provide a medium for educators, researchers, scholars,
managers, graduate students and sociologists from diverse cultural backgrounds to
present and discuss their recent research, knowledge, and innovation in the field of
sociology. This conference also serves as an opportunity for the delegates to exchange
new ideas and experiences, develop the scholarship or collaborate in research, and find
global partners for future cooperation.
The articles submitted for the conference will be revised and edited based on the results
of presentation and discussion to be then published by Atlantis Press in Advances in
Social Science, Education and Humanities Research (ASSEHR), ISSN 2352-5398, Indexed
by: CPCI-SSH Thomson Reuters and Google Scholar.
It is expected that through UPI ICSE 2015, participants will gain the opportunities to
improve their knowledge and expand their network as well as inspiring innovative
ideas for the advancement of knowledge and social welfare.

I am highly excited with the 1st UPI International Conference on
Sociology Education (UPI ICSE 2015) With theme Education for
Sustainability Development and Empowering Community
because it implies the academic honesty and excitement to take
into account the development process to more civilized and
benefical for all human beings and humanity. Through a series of
research with various perspectives. The researchers not only
“market” their ideas but also emphasizes the importance of
position the justice as a main principle for sustained development.
Justine in the development process and the use of benefits is the nearest way to wealth
and prosperity.
Right now. I am really glad because I can also present the seminar pro-siding to all the
readers. I hope that it is really advantageous and excels the next academic efforts. An
effort that is not always easy, but God, The Most Gracious, will provide special rewards

I applaud the conference committee for the organization of the
first International Conference on Sociology Education in UPI, to
be held on October 12, 2015, with speakers who are experts in
their respective fields. I am sure this conference will enlighten us
all, especially those who desire information and knowledge on
various experiences pertaining to the theme taken by the
conference, namely “Education for Sustainability Development
and Empowering Community.”
We are particularly proud of the articles to be presented in the conference that will be
published internationally by Atlantis Press in Advances in Social Science, Education and
Humanities Research (ASSEHR), ISSN 2352-5398, Indexed by: CPCI-SSH Thomson
Reuters and Google Scholar. The international publication is an opportunity as well as
a positive challenge that should be answered by the whole members of academic
community by being committed to The sharpening of their abilities to disseminatee
recent research results.
I personally express my gratitude to the whole committee members who have
dedicated and committed their time to work hard hand in hand in organizing the
conference. It is only natural that there will be imperfections for us to reflect on and to

International Conference on Sociology Education
Praise be to God the Almighty, the Most Merciful and the Most
Bountiful. It is only through His blessings that the Study
Program of Sociology Education, Indonesia University of
Education, is able to successfully organize its very first
international conference on October 12, 2015.
The 1st UPI International Conference on Sociology Education
(UPI ICSE 2015) is expected to be held biannually, and this year
we take the theme of “Education for Sustainability Development and Empowering
Community.”
UPI ICSE 2015 ultimately aims to provide a medium for educators, researchers, scholars,
managers, graduate students and sociologists from diverse cultural backgrounds to
present and discuss their recent research, knowledge, and innovation in the field of
sociology. This conference also serves as an opportunity for the delegates to exchange
new ideas and experiences, develop the scholarship or collaborate in research, and find
global partners for future cooperation.
The articles submitted for the conference will be revised and edited based on the results
of presentation and discussion to be then published by Atlantis Press in Advances in
Social Science, Education and Humanities Research (ASSEHR), ISSN 2352-5398, Indexed
by: CPCI-SSH Thomson Reuters and Google Scholar.
It is expected that through UPI ICSE 2015, participants will gain the opportunities to
improve their knowledge and expand their network as well as inspiring innovative
ideas for the advancement of knowledge and social welfare.
