Analisis Tingkat Keekonomisan Terhadap Penggunaan Profil Kastela Sebagai Balok Pada Konstruksi Baja (Studi Kasus: Proyek Pembangunan Showroom BMW Medan)
ABSTRAK
Baja adalah salah satu material yang paling sering digunakan dalam dunia
konstruksi oleh karena berbagai kelebihannya, namun karena harganya yang
relatif mahal maka dibutuhkanlah solusi untuk mengantipasinya, yakni seperti
dengan cara mengaplikasikan desain ekonomis pada konstruksi baja. Adapun
desain ekonomis yang cukup populer digunakan pada saat ini adalah desain profil
baja dengan bukaan pada pelat badannya atau disebut juga dengan profil kastela.
Pada penelitian ini, penulis menganalisis tingkat keekonomisan
penggunaan profil kastela sebagai balok pada Proyek Pembangunan Showroom
BMW Medan, dengan menggunakan teknik rekayasa nilai. Profil kastela
dibandingkan dengan profil padat, yang merupakan profil dengan desain yang
umumnya dipakai pada konstruksi baja. Perbandingan yang dilakukan meliputi
perbandingan biaya dan manajemen pekerjaan, yang ditujukan untuk mengetahui
desain mana yang lebih ekonomis, dan seberapa besar tingkat keekonomisannya.
Setelah dilakukan analisis rekayasa nilai, terjadi penghematan sebesar
17,509 % atas penggunaan profil kastela sebagai balok pada Proyek Pembangunan
Showroom BMW Medan, apabila dibandingkan dengan profil padat. Hal ini
dikarenakan oleh besarnya penghematan material baja apabila menggunakan
profil kastela yakni sebesar 15,519 % pada beratnya dan 56,466 % pada
luasannya. Melalui penelitian ini, profil kastela dinyatakan lebih ekonomis apabila
dibandingkan dengan profil padat.

Steel is one of the most-often-used materials in construction due to its
various advantages, however a solution is needed to anticipate its price which is
relatively expensive, i.e. by applying economical design in steel construction. One
economical design that is quite popular today is the design of steel profile with
openings on its web post or also called as castellated profile.
In this study, the author analyzes the level of cost-effectiveness in the
usage of castellated profile as the beam in Construction Project of BMW
Showroom in Medan, with using value engineering techniques. The castellated
profile is compared to the solid profile, which is the profile with a design that is
commonly used in steel constructions. The comparison is conducted on the cost
and the work management to determine which profil design is more cost-effective,
and how much is the cost-effectiveness.
After the analysis of value engineering is conducted, there is a saving of
17.509 % in the usage of castellated profile as the beam in Construction Project
of BMW Showroom in Medan, if compared with the usage of solid profile. This is
caused by the amount of steel material saving when using castellated profile
which is equal to 15.519 % by weight and 56.466% by area. Through this study,
the castellated profile results to be more cost-effective if compared to solid
profile.
