Firstly, I would say thank to ALLAH SWT for all blessing given to me. I

would also say thank to all people who support and encourage me. In writing this
final project report entitled “The Problems of Teaching and Learning English
in SD Negeri Mojolegi, Teras, Boyolali.”
The main reason that attracts me mind to write this final project report is to
describe the problems in teaching and learning English in elementary school.

ABSTRACT
Rina Megasari. 2009. The Problems of Teaching and Learning English in SD
Negeri Mojolegi, Teras, Boyolali. English Diploma Program, faculty of
Letters and fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University.

This final project report was based on the job training in SD Negeri
Mojolegi, Teras, Boyolali which had been done within two months. The aim of
the final project is to describe the problems and solutions in teaching and learning
English at elementary school
During the job training, the writer was cooperating with the English
teacher of the school teaching English lesson to the students. The writer taught
English lesson to first grade until sixth grade, used teaching procedure and the
book (bahasa Inggris KELAS 5 SD and PIJAR LKS). At that time, the writer
found that the English teacher and the students have problems in teaching and

learning English.
In conclusion, it is clear that the key of teaching and learning is the
discipline and creative teacher. English is different course than other courses, for
young learners English is difficult course learned by them. In order to, the English
teacher should be ready with the facilities and be creative in teaching English so
that the students interest to learn English.
