ABSTRACT

Literature is an art work depicting a human habits such as life, mood, and
matters related to life. One of the art work is the novel. Novel is an art work in
which there is have writing fiction or non-fiction that tell about a story. In this
case the writer will discuss about the main characters in a literary work. Literature
was also influential in seeing any difference in the attitude of each individual.
Therefore, the writer chose the title aboutm"The Description Of The Main
Characters In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel The Memoirs Of Sherlock
Holmes". The writer analyzes the role and the concerns expressed in the main
characters of the literary work in building the story. Thus the writer accept the

criticism and feedback on this paper for more leverage.

ABSTRAK

Sastra merupakan sebuah karya seni yang menggambarkan sebuah
kebiasaan manusia seperti kehidupan, suasana hati dan hal-hal yang berkaitan
tentang kebiasaan dalam kehidupan. Salah satu karya seni tersebut adalah Novel.
Novel merupakan sebuah karya seni yang di dalamnya terdapat tulisan fiksi
ataupun nonfiksi yang menceritakan tentang sebuah cerita. Dalam hal ini penulis
akan membahas tentang tokoh utama dalam sebuah karya sastra. Sastra juga
berpengaruh dalam melihat segala perbedaan sikap dari setiap individu. Oleh
karena itu, penulis memilih judul "The DescriptionOf The Main Characters In
Sir Arthur ConanDoyle's Novel The MemoirsOfSherlockHolmes". Penulis
akan menganalisa peran dan masalah yang terdapat dalam tokoh utama karya
sastra tersebut dalam membangun cerita. Maka dari itu penulis menerima kritikan
dan masukan terhadap karya tulis ini agar lebih maksimal.
