Performance Summary


The Company managed to record sales of Rp 1,37 tn or grew by
9.2% compared to same period in the preceding year.



Domestic and export sales grew by 9.2% y-o-y respectively.
Export sales has showing a good recovery compared to previous
year. It is expected that this improvement in export sales can be
attained throughout 2017.



Hair care category still being the darling driven by GATSBY Styling
Pomade which is recently available in mini size and sachet type.



Cost of goods sold increased by 10.7% y-o-y. Nonetheless, gross

profit still growing by 6.7%.



Operating expenses increased by 3.4 % y-o-y. The company
successfully maintain its selling expenses at Rp 300 bn or only
increased by 2.2% y-o-y, while G&A Expenses increased by 7.1%
y-o-y



Several efficiencies on operating expenses had positive impact on
operating income and net income, growing by 20.8% and 26.8%
respectively.

Challenge, Change, Innovation
(Continuously Performing)
The year 2017 is the first year of the Stage 5 of the 3-Year Middle Range Management
Planning (MID-5) which will end in 2019. The theme which will be used in MID-5 is Challenge,
Change, Innovation (Continuously Performing). For that purpose, the Company will make
effort to achieve this target by strengthening sales, domestic and international, through
development of new products, expansion of distribution area, productivity improvement, and
identification of new business categories which can support the Co pa y’s expansion.

Hairstyling

Hair Care

Hair Care category grew by 26.1% driven by
Hairstyling and Hair Color
Until 1H2017 Hairstyling and Hair Color still become the booster of this
category. Thanks to GATSBY Styling Pomade which growing double digit
both for domestic and export during this period. In addition, Hair Color also
showing a positive growth driven by the legendary brand, namely Tancho.
As an effort to maintain this achievement, in 2nd semester of 2017 the
Company will come up with new hairstyling products and strengthen its
marketing strategy both below the line and above the line.

PIXY Lip Cream accepted well by the market
Competition is getting tighter in this category. Thus, during 1H2017 Skin
Care & Makeup category only grew by 4% y-o-y. Decorative makeup,
especially PIXY Lip Cream has been doing well. While for base makeup
recorded a sluggish growth. Going forward PIXY will strengthen A&P
activities and launch new products in 2nd Semester of 2017.

Fragrance
Fragrance decreased by 4 % y-o-y
Low consumer purchasing power, lot of competitors and low consumer
loyalty has become several challenges in this category. Thus, until
1H2017 this category decreased by 4% y-o-y. However, if we breakdown
the sales by gender, e ’s fragrance still managed to record growth
driven by GATSBY Urban Cologne. While female fragrance decrease due
to stiffer competition. Going forward, the Company will strengthen this
category by launching new products and more active in A&P activities
especially to boost female fragrance.
