World Population


It is estimated to number 7.13 billion by the
United States Census Bureau (USCB).



The world population has experienced
continuous growth since the end of the Great
Famine and the Black Death in 1350, when it
stood at around 370 million.




The highest rates of growth:


1950s: 1,8% per year



1962: 2,2% per year



2012: 1,1% per year

The Growth



Total annual births were highest in the late 1980s at
about 138 million;



Total annual births are now expected to remain
essentially constant at their 2011 level of 134 million.



And the deaths number 56 million per year, and are
expected to increase to 80 million per year by 2040.



The projection of World population is expected to reach
8.3 and 10.9 billion by 2050; and for the year 2150
range between 3.2 and 24.8 billion.
