Attitudes is a tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain thing, idea, person, situation etc.Al-Mamun, Rahman, Rahman, and Hossaim argue that attitude is the feeling people have about their own language.Thus, Learning English is a process of teaching English material to the students in classroom activity. The problem of this research is w hat are the the students‟ attitudes toward learning English at SMA Negeri 1 WelahanJepara in academic year 2018/2019?
The purpose of this study is t o describe the students‟ attitudes toward
learning English at SMA Negeri 1 Welahan Jepara in academic year 2018/2019.
The type of the research that is used is qualitative research. Subjects in the study were tenth grade students take from one class and there are 35 students come from X Science 3 class of SMA Negeri 1 Welahan Jepara in academic year 2018/2019. This study starts to collect the data from the students using questionnaire sheet. The questionnaire consists of 30 statements and the questions are about the aspects of attitude, they were; cognitive attitude, emotional attitude, and behavioral attitude.
The results of the research showed cognitive attitudes gets 36%, emotional attitudes gets 32%, and behavioral attitudes also gets 32%. The students of X Science 3 used emotional attitude and behavioral attitude. But students in this research put more emphasis on cognitive attitude about learning English and the percentage was 36%. The writer have some suggestion of this study; (i) for the teacher, the teacher should be able to create good atmosphere in class. So, from those students attitude should know how to manage them how to give good atmosphere in the class. To get responses from them it must through different approach. The students will be more comfortable if the teacher also acts like a friend for them.They also like relax condition in English learning process. (ii) for the students, In the English Learning process, if you do not understand the material, just ask to the teacher. And you can assume that your teacher is like your friend and create a relax condition. In Indonesia, English is a foreign language and important to learn. (iii) for the readers, this research can give a knowledge to some readers and this also can be references for the other researcher who conduct a research which is related students‟ attitudes toward learning English.

Sikap adalah kecenderungan untuk merespon secara positif atau negatif terhadap suatu hal, ide, orang, situasi, dll. Al-Mamun, Rahman, Rahman, dan Hossaim berpendapat bahwa sikap adalah perasaan yang di miliki orang tentang bahasa mereka sendiri. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah proses materi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris kepada siswa dalam kegiatan kelas. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMA Negeri 1 Welahan Jepara pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019?
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMA Negeri 1 Welahan Jepara pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek di penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X mengambil dari 1 kelas sebanyak 35 siswa dari kelas X MIPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Welahan Jepara Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini mulai mengumpulkan data dari siswa menggunakan lembar kuesioner. Kuesioner terdiri dari 30 pernyataan and pertanyaan itu tentang aspek sikap, yaitu aspek sikap kognitif, sikap emosional, dan sikap perilaku.
Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan sikap kognitif mendapat 36%, sikap emotional 32%, dan sikap perilaku juga mendapat 32%. Siswa X MIPA 3 menggunakan sikap emosional dan sikap perilaku. Tapi, di penelitian ini siswa lebih menekankan pada sikap kognitif mengenai pembelajaran bahasa inggris.
Penulis mempunyai beberapa saran di penelitian ini; (i)Bagi guru, guru harus mampu menciptakan suasana yang baik di kelas. Jadi, guruitu harus tahu bagaimana memberi suasana yang baik di kelas. Untuk mendapatkan respon dari mereka, itu harus melalui pendekatan yang berbeda. Siswa akan lebih nyaman jika guru juga bertindak seperti teman bagi mereka. Mereka juga menyukai suasana santai dalam proses belajar bahasa Inggris. (ii) Bagi siswa, proses belajar bahasa Inggris, jika anda tidak memahami materi, tanyakan saja kepada guru. Dan and dapat mengasumsikan bahwa guru anda seperti teman anda dan menciptakan suasana yang rileks. Di Indonesia, bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa asing dan penting untuk di pelajari. (iii) Bagi para pembaca, peletitian ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan kepada beberapa pembaca dan ini juga dapat menjadi referensi bagi peneliti lain yang melakukan penelitian yang terkait dengan topik yang sama.
