PANDAN WANGI DENGAN RESIN EPOKSI

ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan pembuatan dan karakterisasi papan komposit berbasis serat pandan
wangi dengan resin epoksi dengan metode orientasi serat acak dengan panjang serat 4
cm, dengan komposisi serat 0 gr, 0,1 gr, 0,2 gr, 0,3 gr, 0,4 gr, 0,5 gr, dan sudah
dilakukan pengujian mekanik dan fisis dan diperoleh nilai kuat tarik 52,26 MPa, kuat
lentur 49,74 MPa, kuat impak 30,6 kJ/mm2, densitas 1,07 gr/cm3, dan kadar air 2,05
%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sifat mekanik dan sifat fisis yang memenuhi
Standart JIS A 5905: 2003 yaitu kuat tarik > 0,4 MPa, kuat lentur >32MPa, densitas
0,3-1,3 gr/cm3 dan kadar air 5 %- 13 %. Komposit serat pandan wangi dengan resin
epoksi dapat diaplikasikan menjadi bumper mobil.

FIBER FRAGRANT PANDAN WITH EPOXY RESIN

ABSTRACT

Preparation and characterization of composites based fiber fragrant pandan with
epoxy resin have been done by method of random orientation with a length of fiber 4
cm, the fiber composition : 0 gr, 0,1 gr, 0,2 gr, 0,3 gr, 0,4 gr, 0,5 gr. The mechanical
properties and physical properties of composite were obtained as tensile strength
52,26 MPa, flexural strength 49,74 MPa, strong impact 30,6 kj/mm2 , density 1,07
gr/cm3 and rate of water 2,05 %. The results showed mechanical properties and
physical properties are almost the same as the Standard JIS A 5905 :2003 such as
tensile strength >0,4 MPa,flexural strength >32 MPa,density 1,07 – 1,3 gr/cm3and
rate of water 5-13% It means the material on this reseand can be applied to
outomotive car such as bumper.
