PENGARUH PERBANDINGAN CAIRAN PEMASAK DENGAN
CHIP TERHADAP PROSES PEMASAKAN DI DIGESTER

ABSTRAK
Pada proses pemasakan serpihan kayu digunakan liquor yang terdiri dari white
liquor dan black liquor sebagai cairan pemasak. Pada proses pemasakan harus
digunakan perbandingan yang sesuai antara liquor dengan serpihan kayu yang
disebut liquor to wood ratio. Liquor to wood ratio menyatakan perbandingan
antara liquor dengan serpihan kayu. Liquor to wood ratio berhubungan dengan
kualitas pulp yang dihasilkan ditunjukkan oleh nilai kappa number. Semakin
tinggi liquor to wood ratio maka nilai kappa number akan semakin tinggi karena
liquor to wood yang semakin tinggi menyebabkan volume liquor khususnya black
liquor menjadi semakin tinggi. Volume black liquor yang semakin tinggi tersebut
menyebabkan kappa number tinggi karena komposisi black liquor yang sebagian
besar mengandung lignin. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan maka liquor to wood
yang baik digunakan untuk mencapai target kappa number 6 adalah 3,88.

THE EFFECT OF LIQUOR TO WOOD (L/W) RATIO TO THE
CHIP COOKING PROCESS ON DIGESTER PLANT

ABSTRACT
In the process of cooking wood chips used liquor comprising white liquor and
black liquor as the cooking liquid. In the cooking process should be used
appropriate comparison between liquor with wood chips called liquor to wood
ratio. Liquor to wood ratio states the ratio between liquor with wood chips. Liquor
to wood ratio relates to the quality of the pulp produced is indicated by the value
of kappa number. The higher the liquor to wood ratio of the value of kappa
number will be higher because the liquor to wood higher lead volume, especially
black liquor liquor becomes higher. The volume of black liquor that causes the
higher kappa number is high because the composition of the black liquor that
mostly contains lignin. Based on observations of the liquor to wood that is well
used to achieve the target kappa number 6 is 3.88.
