ABSTRACT

Waly Akbar Raditya, 2012. Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)
Preference Toward The Several Host Plants in the Laboratory. Under Guidance
Nenet Susniahti and Toto Sunarto.

The research was conducted to determine the preference of Plutella xylostella
toward several host plants in the laboratory. Experiments conducted on the rearing
laboratory Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, University
of Padjadjaran and used the method of RAK (Random Design Group) from August
2011 until April 2012. The experiments were conducted toward five host plant of
Cruciferae, they are cabbage (Brassica var oleraceae. Capitata L.), petsai (Brassica
pekinensis), pakcoi (Brassica chinensis), roripa (Rorippa indica ), and kardamin
(Cardamine hirsuta ) five times for each host plant. The result showed that P.
xylostella laid the eggs in Pakcoi 119.4 eggs and Petsai 100.8 eggs mostly. P.
xylostella can live and thrive in other plants besides Cabbage, they are petsai, pakcoi,
