Fluidity Geometry Of Water In Motion
ABSTRAK
Kawasan muka sungai merupakan bagian besar dari ruang publik yang bukan
hanya menjadi ruang yang unik di kota, tetapi juga wilayah yang paling
representatif yang mencerminkan karakter lokal dari kota tersebut. Sebagai tema
besar dalam kasus proyek perancangan ini, kawasan muka sungai menjadi muka
depan suatu bangunan tersebut dirancang. Perancangan ini juga disertai dengan
kasus proyek perancangan arsitektural yang bersifat komersial campuran dimana
proyek ini berada di lokasi tapak yang berbatasan dengan tepi Sungai Deli, Jalan
Guru Patimpus dan lahan eks Deli Plaza. Sungai Deli merupakan salah satu
sungai induk dari beberapa sungai yang mengalir di Sumatera Utara, serta
menyimpan sejarah kota Medan yang menjadi identitas kota. Penerapan tema
“Fluidity Geometry of Water in Motion ” bermula dari inspirasi penulis terhadap
bentuk-bentuk alam berupa tetesan air yang diambil dari elemen sungai dimana
gambaran aliran sungai dari Sungai Deli ini diterapkan dalam bangunan dan tapak
lingkungan. Tema yang diharapkan dalam perancangan ini adalah tema yang bisa
menggambarkan bagaimana fungsi ruang publik dan fungsi komersial campuran
tersebut terintergrasi dengan lingkungan alam, bagaimana keterkaitannya antara
tepian sungai, sungai, ruang luar dan ruang dalam, serta tema yang dapat
menciptakan daya tarik pada rancangan ini. Penerapan tema ini akan terintergrasi
dengan gaya arsitektur Organik Kontemporer, dimana bagian dari tema yang
berperan dalam prinsip-prinsip alam akan diterapkan dalam perancangan serta
menggabungkan unsur modern ke dalamnya.

ABSTRACT
Riverfront is a large part of public space that does not only become unique space
in a city, but also becomes the representative of a region that reflects the local
character from the city. As the main theme in this design project case, riverfront
becomes the facade this building. This design also includes architectura l design
project case which is commercial mixed-use. This project is located at the site that
is adjacent with the side of Deli River, Jalan Guru Patimpus and the area that
was used as Deli Plaza. Deli River is one of the main stem river from some rivers
that flow in North Sumatera, which contains the history and symbolizes the
identity of Medan City. The application of “Fluidity Geometry of Water in
Motion” theme was inspired by the natural form which is drop of water from the
river where the flow pattern of Deli River is applied in the building and
environment. The theme that is expected from this design is the theme that can
give the view of how the functions of public space and commercial mix-used are
integrated with the natural environment, how is the correlation of riverside, river,
exterior and interior, also the theme that can create attraction in this design. The
application of this theme is going to be intergrated with the Organic Contemporer
architectural style, where the part of the theme which roles in natural principles is
going to be applied in the design with the combination of modern element.
