by the teacher in teaching reading descriptive text, the problems faced by the
teacher in teaching reading descriptive text, and the ways used by the teacher to
overcome the problems in teaching reading descriptive text.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The research data in this
study collected from observation to the SMP N 2 Bendosari and interview with
English teacher and the seventh year students in SMP N 2 Bendosari. The sources
of the data are event of teaching reading descriptive text, informant, and document.
The methods of collecting data are observation, interview, and document.
The researcher finds that the methods applied by the teacher are Audio

procedures in teaching learning process are Building Knowledge of the Field
(BKOF), Modeling of the Text (MOT), Joint Construction of the Text (JCOT), and

there are some problems faced by the English teacher namely; 1) classroom
management, 2) low motivation of the students in learning English, 3) different
capability of the students in receiving material, and 4) limited time. The teacher
has four ways to overcome the problems. They are; 1) the teacher walks around the
class and pointed the students who do not pay attention and gives question, 2) gives
advice, motivation and uses attractive media, 3) the teacher gives a chance to the
students to ask about the material that they do not understand yet, and the teacher
gives advices, and 4) the teacher manages time again to reach the material based on
curriculum.
