THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF STRATEGY MANAGEMENT AND CLUB'S
CONDITION ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS OF
SOFTBALL CLUBS IN BANDUNG

Softball clubs in Bandung as organizations are associated to the strategies
of organization development to improve the coaching and development of the
softball clubs in the community, both in schools and the general public. This
research was aimed to study the development strategy of softball clubs in
Bandung with three main aspects namely the clubs' management, the clubs'
conditions, and the effectiveness of maintained organizations. This research used
descriptive method with survey technique through questionnaire and interview
conducted to leaders and members of the softball clubs in Bandung.
The results showed that the strategy management of softball clubs in
Bandung, both the external and internal factors, was good enough. The clubs'
conditons seen from external and internal factors were not good, while the
effectiveness gained by the clubs was good enough. Based on these results, it can
be recommended to increase the organizational ability of the softball clubs as the
power and chance, seek for supports from external factors, improve the internal
parts of the clubs themselves, and increase the quality of human resources to
become professionals in organizing the clubs.

Klub-klub softball di Kota Bandung sebagai organisasi akan berkaitan
dengan strategi pengembangan organisasinya untuk meningkatkan pembinaan dan
pengembangan klub softball di masyarakat, baik di masyarakat sekolah maupun
masyarakat umum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti mengenai strategi
pengembangan organisasi klub-klub softball di Kota Bandung dengan melihat dari
tiga aspek yaitu manajemen klub itu sendiri, kondisi klub, dan efektifitas
organisasi yang dijalankan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan
teknik survey melalui kuisioner dan wawancara terhadap pimpinan dan anggota
klub-klub softball di Kota Bandung.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen strategi klub-klub
softball di Kota Bandung baik faktor eksternal maupun internal berada pada
kategori cukup. Kondisi klub dilihat dari faktor eksternal dan internal
menunjukkan kondisi yang kurang, sedangkan efektifitas yang diperoleh klub
mencapai hasil yang cukup. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat dikemukakan
rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan organisasi klub softball sebagai
kekuatan dan peluang atau kesempatan, mencari dukungan dari faktor eksternal,
pembenahan dalam organisasi klub-klub softball itu sendiri, serta meningkatkan
kualitas sumber daya manusia sehingga menjadi tenaga professional dalam
kepengurusan organisasi klub softball.

Klub-klub softball di Kota Bandung sebagai organisasi akan berkaitan
dengan strategi pengembangan organisasinya untuk meningkatkan pembinaan dan

menunjukkan kondisi yang kurang, sedangkan efektifitas yang diperoleh klub
mencapai hasil yang cukup. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat dikemukakan
rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan organisasi klub softball sebagai
kekuatan dan peluang atau kesempatan, mencari dukungan dari faktor eksternal,
pembenahan dalam organisasi klub-klub softball itu sendiri, serta meningkatkan
kualitas sumber daya manusia sehingga menjadi tenaga professional dalam
kepengurusan organisasi klub softball.
