Turkey Hideout
•  Have each student draw a turkey on half of an
index card.
•  Explain to the class that the turkeys are all
trying to hide from the farmer so they will not
become Thanksgiving dinner!
•  Display the materials that can be used to
create the hideout. (Legos, pattern blocks,
construction paper, cubes, whatever you have
on hand!)

•  Have the students brainstorm a hideout they
could make with only these materials.
•  Plan it! Have your makers sketch their design on
paper and share with a partner for ideas and
improvements.
•  Build. Make changes (change on paper.) Build.
Make changes....etc. Be as elaborate as you
want!
•  Share with a partner. Problem solve. Make
changes.
•  Farmer check! (Teacher tries to find your
turkey!)
•  Make changes as needed. Take a photo
to add to your plan or display proudly!
