Lee W. Waldrep, Ph.D., Associate Dean in the School of Architecture, Planning, and
Preservation , University of Maryland.
He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Development from The American University with a Master

of Architecture from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of
Michigan. He has lectured and presented on the topic of careers and architecture extensively at
architecture programs including the AIAS Forum and Grassroots. He has also presented at a
recent northeast regional conference of the ACSA, high schools, junior highs, and elementary
schools on the topic of "becoming an architect." In 1995-1997, he authored a series of three
articles on the same topic for the IDP News, a publication distributed to over 12,500 interns.
