1. Goals:
The course is designed :
 to introduce students to and familiarize students with listening materials in academic settings,


to train students in the strategies they need in listening, note taking and speaking challenges of
academic classroom.

2. Contents:
This course is designed to train students in the strategies they need in listening, note taking and
speaking challenges of academic classroom. Students will learn how to listen to lectures and take notes
effectively and to communicate with other students in groups discussions where they discuss ideas
independently and confidently.
3. Learning Activities:
Listening to academic lectures of various topics, peer and group discussions and note taking will be the
major learning activities in this course.
Prerequisites:
Students should have passed the two foundational listening courses; Listening for General
Communication and Listening in Professional Context in order to be eligible for the course.

c. Audio/video player
5. Evaluation
Assessment will be based on the following aspects:
 Class attendance
: 80% of the total commencement; this is normative!
 Class Participation : 10%
