ABSTRACT
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CIRCLE GAME IN TEACHING
ENGLISH VOCABULARY

The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of Circle Game in teaching English vocabulary at the seventh grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Rawalo in academic year 2014/2015. The study was conducted by using quasi experimental. The participants of this study were the first graders of one of MTs Muhammadiyah in Rawalo. There were two classes by which class A was used as the control class and class C was used as the experimental class. Test was used in collecting the data of this study, namely pre-test and post-test. The test consisted of multiple choice items. Based on the computation, t-test result was 3.31 andthe result of r-table at the significant level 0.05 with the degree of freedom 58 was 1.672. The calculation of t-obtained was higher than t-table (3.31 > 1.672). based on the study result, it showed that Circle Game was effective for teaching vocabulary at the first graders in one of MTs Muhammadiyah Rawalo in academic year 2014/2015.
