HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN TENTANG BAHAYA ROKOK
DENGAN PERILAKU MEROKOK SISWA

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh jumlah perokok pemula yakni usia 10-14
tahun naik 2 kali lipat dari 9,5% pada 2001 menjadi 17,5% pada tahun 2010.
Faktanya siswa telah dibekali pengetahuan tentang bahaya rokok di SD dan SMP.
Oleh karena itu, permasalahan penelitian ini adalah apakah tingkat pengetahuan
tentang bahaya rokok berpengaruh terhadap sikap mengenai rokok? Sesuai
dengan latar belakang dan masalah penelitian maka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang bahaya rokok dengan perilaku
merokok siswa di SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Dengan populasi
22.468 siswa dan sampelnya 393 siswa dengan pengambilan sampel secara cluster

sampling dan angket sebagai instrumennya. Diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa tidak
terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan tentang bahaya rokok
dengan perilaku merokok siswa, dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0,058 yang
menandakan nilai korelasinya sangat rendah. Dengan penemuan tersebut penulis
menyarankan agar diteliti faktor selain pengetahuan yang mempengaruhi perilaku
merokok siswa, baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif.

This research is motivated by the number of new smokers aged 10-14 years
increased 2-fold from 9.5% in 2001 to 17.5% in 2010. In fact the students have
been equipped with knowledge about the dangers of smoking in elementary and
junior high school. Therefore, this research issue is whether the level of
knowledge about the dangers of cigarette smoking influence on attitudes about? In
accordance with the background and the research problem, this study aims to
determine the relationship between knowledge about the dangers of smoking and
smoking behavior of students in Secondary Schools throughout West Bandung
regency. With a population of 22 468 students and 393 students sampled with
sampling cluster sampling and questionnaire as an instrument. The conclusion
was that there is no significant relationship between knowledge about the dangers
of smoking and smoking behavior of students, with a 0.058 correlation coefficient
indicating the correlation is very low. With these findings the authors suggest that

investigated factors other than the knowledge that influence smoking behavior of
students, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
