Main responsibilities
The Office of the Director-General provides direct services to the
Director-General and coordinates the different central services of the
Organization.

Under the authority of the Executive Director, Office of the Director
General {DIR/ODG), the Deputy Director will assist and advise
DIR/ODG, as well as the Director-General, in carrying out their

Terms and conditions
The post is at grade D-1 common to the United Nations system, with
a salary composed of base salary and post adjustment, which, at the
present dollar exchange rate, totals approximately US $176,034 (with

dependants)

US$162,71'l (without dependants) per annum,

exempt from taxation. In addition, UNESCO offers an attractive
benefit package, including 30 days annual vacation, home travel,
education grant for dependent children, pension plan and medical
