students’ reading comprehension achievement. That was because morphological analysis enabled them to break
down words parts to find the meaning of each part especially its base. When they had known the meaning of its base, they could predict the meaning of the word
which shared the same base form. Then they just continued to find the meaning of prefix or suffix that was attached to its base form. They could also predict the
meaning of a particular word by finding the other words that they had known,
which shared the same base form, because the word with the mutual base form had a related meaning
. When the meaning of the words could be understood, they were also able to comprehend a reading text better. Therefore, it could be assumed
that the students’ reading comprehension achievement could increase as the result
of teaching morphological analysis.
