ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PENGUNJUNG
WISATA BRASTAGI KABUPATEN KARO PROVINSI SUMATERA UTARA

ABSTRAK

Industri pariwisata adalah industri yang paling pesat perkembangannya pada
saat ini. Hal ini ditunjang semakin meningkatnya derajat kesejahteraan masyarakat
Indonesia, bertambahnya waktu luang, stabilitas politik. Dari sisi makro ekonomi,
perkembangan pariwisata nasional terus mengalami peningkatan yang cukup
signifikan. Kontribusinya terhadap PDB nasional terus meningkat. Salah satu
destinasi wisata yang cukup terkenal di Provinsi Sumatera Utara adalah Brastagi.
Berdasarkan data Dinas Pariwisata Pemkab Karo, hingga akhir 2011, jumlah
pengunjung yang datang ke Brastagi mencapai 550.000 orang. Jumlah ini naik
disbanding tahun 2010 sebanyak 540.000 orang.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang
mempengaruhi pengunjung wisata Brastagi Kabupaten Karo Provinsi Sumatera
Utara. Populasi penelitian adalah pengunjung wisata Brastagi yang berasal dari dalam
negeri (domestik). Teknik Penarikan sampel dengan purposive sampling dan kuota
sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner. Variabel penelitian meliputi
variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Variabel bebas antara lain pengeluaran
wisatawan, pendapatan, jumlah anggota keluarga dan biaya perjalanan, sedangkan

variabel terikatnya adalah jumlah pengunjung wisata Brastagi. Metode analisis data
dengan menggunakan metode OLS (Ordinary Least Square).
Hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan eviews 6.1 menunjukkan bahwa
pendapatan wisatawan dan jumlah anggota keluarga berpengaruh positif dan
signifikan terhadap intensitas kunjungan wisata Brastagi, sedangkan pengeluaran
wisatawan berpengaruh positif tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap intensitas kunjungan
wisata ke Brastagi. Sementara biaya perjalanan berpengaruh negative dan signifikan
terhadap intensitas kunjungan wisata ke Brastagi.

ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING TOURISM VISITORS BERASTAGI
KARO NORTH SUMATRA PROVINCE

ABSTRACT

Tourism industry is the currently most rapid developing industry supported by
the more increasing degree of the welfare of Indonesian society, increasing amount
of leisure time ,and good political stability. In terms of macro-economy, national
tourism development undergoes an adequately significant improvement. Its
contribution to National Gross Domestic Product keeps increasing. One of the
adequately famous tourist destinations in the Province of Sumatera Utara is
Berastagi. Based on the data issued by Karo District Tourism Service, up to 2011, the
number of visitors visiting Berastagi reached 550,000 persons. This number
increased compared to 540,000 persons in 2010.

The purpopse of this study was to find out the factors influencing those
visiting Berastagi, Karo District, Sumatera Utara province. The population of this
study consisted of domestic tourist visiting Berastagi. The sample for this study were
selected through purposive and quota sampling techniques. The data for this study
including independent and dependent variables were obtained through questionnaire
distribution. Independent variables included the expenditures, income, number of
family members and travel cost of the tourists, and the dependent variables consisted
of the number of visitors visiting Berastagi. The data obtained were analyzed through
OLS (Ordinary Least Square) method.

The result of data analysis using eviews 6.1 showed that tourists’ income and
number of family members had positive and significant influence, tourists’
expenditures had a positive but insignificant influence, and travel cost had a negative
and significant influence on the intensity of tourists visiting Berastagi.
