1.4 Future work
Improvements in this document are desirable on the following topics:
Investigation on existing roundtrip issues – issues with the contents of the
resulting documents of a roundtrip should be investigated further, for both development environments.
Taking alternative approaches and languages into account – Besides the
assessed two development environments several other solutions exist for the generation of data bindings. As these might provide better results, an assessment
would be valuable.
AIXM binding software suite – a comprehensive software suite providing
convenience methods on processing AIXM features e.g. TimeSlice management could be built on top of the created schema bindings. A basis for this could be the
already developed wrapper components available as Open Source Software.

Most diagrams that appear in this standard are presented using the Unified Modeling Language UML static structure diagram, as described in Subclause 5.2 of [OGC 06-
