ABSTRAK
Tindakan bedah secara teoritis cenderung menimbulkan risiko pada pascaoperasi,
mulai dan yang ringan sampai yang berat dan hal ini sering menjadi pemicu timbulnya
konflik antara dokter dengan pasien. Karena itu semua rumah sakit diwajibkan
melaksanakan persetujuan tindakan medis (informed consent) sebelum tindakan bedah
dilaksanakan kecuali pada kasus-kasus gawat darurat.
Tesis ini berjudul Hubungan Karakteristik Pasien Pelayanan Bedah Dan
Kejelasan Informasi Dokter Dalam Pelaksanaan Persetujuan Tindakan Medis (Informed
Consent) Di RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik pasien
pelayanan bedah dan kejelasan informasi dokter dalam pelaksanaan Persetujuan
Tindakan Medis (Informed Consent), melalui metode survei dan desain deskriptif Cross
Sectional. Jumlah sampel 100 orang diambil dan pasien yang akan dan sudah dilakukan
tindakan bedah pada bulan Juni 2005 di Instalasi Rawat Inap Terpadu A dan B RSUP. H.
Adam Malik. Data primer diperoleh dan kuesioner dan wawancara, data sekunder diambil
dan Sub Bagian Rekam Medis. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Chi Square dan
menetapkan
= 0,05.. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa sebagian besar pasien
pelayanan bedah ternyata tidak jelas dengan informasi dokter tentang PTM pada item alasan
tindakan operasi, jenis tindakan, risiko, gambaran hasil tindakan operasi, komplikasi,
pilihan tindakan selain operasi, surat izin operasi dan hak pasien menolak tindakan
operasi. Mengenai hubungan antara karakteristik pasien pelayanan bedah dan kejelasan
informasi dokter tentang PTM dapat dilihat bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan
antara umur pasien dan kejelasan informasi dokter tentang tujuan tindakan operasi, cara
kerja, alasan tindakan, penyakit yang diderita, pentingnya tindakan operasi, batas waktu
penundaan operasi, lamanya penyembuhan operasi, komplikasi, biaya tambahan akibat
komplikasi dan hak menolak tindakan operasi; terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara
pendidikan pasien dan kejelasan informasi dokter tentang penyakit yang diderita; terdapat
hubungan yang signifikan antara pekerjaan pasien dan kejelasan informasi dokter tentang
tujuan tindakan operasi, cara kerja, alasan tindakan operasi, penyakit yang diderita,
pentingnya tindakan operasi, kontra indikasi, gambaran hasil akhir tindakan operasi, batas
waktu penundaan operasi, lamanya penyembuhan operasi, komplikasi, biaya tambahan
akibat komplikasi; terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara status perkawinan pasien
dan kejelasan informasi dokter tentang pentingnya tindakan operasi; dan pada jenis
kelamin dan tempat tinggal tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan kejelasan
informasi dokter.
Pimpinan RSUP. H. Adam Malik perlu mengkaji kembali prosedure tetap
pelaksanaan PTM. Formulir PTM harus disempurnakan lagi agar mempunyai standarisasi
batasan informasi yang harus disampaikan dokter kepada pasien pada pelaksanaan PTM.
Hal ini berguna untuk mengantisipasi terjadinya konflik antara dokter dengan pasien
pada pasca- operasi.

Surgical intervention theoretically tends to cause low and high risks in post operative peroide and
this is often make conflicts between doctors and patients. Therefore all the hospitals have to make
informed consent before surgery actions are made exception at the emergencies cases.
The title of this study is The Relationship Between The Characteristics of the
Surgery Service Patients and the Understanding by the Patients with Doctor's
Information about the Informed Consent at RSUP H. Adam Malik in 2005. The objective
of this study is to find out the relationship between the characteristics of the surgery service
patients and the doctor's information about the informed consent. This study uses survey
method and descriptive cross sectional design. A hundred samples are taken from those
who will get and have got the operation in June 2005 at Rawat Map Terpadu A & B Installations
RSUP H. Adam Malik. The primary data is taken from a questioner and interview and the
secondary data is taken from medical record sub division. The data is analyzed by Chi
Square test and the value of significance is = 0, 05.
The result of the research shows that the majority of the patients surgery service
do not understand the doctor's information about informed consent in the items of reason
for operation, typical, risk, final result, complications, alternative from the treatment,
operation license and the rights of the patients to refuse the operation. In the perspective
of the relationship between the characteristics of the patients and the doctor's information
about informed consent can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the age
of the patients and the doctor's information about the items of purpose, nature, reason,
importance, diagnosis, limited time, term of the operation recovery, additional cost caused by
the complication and rights of the patient to refuse the operation; a significant correlation
between the education of the patients and the doctor's information about the items of
diagnosis; there is a significant correlation between the occupation of the patients and the
doctor's information about the items of purpose, nature, reason, importance, diagnosis,
contra indication, result, limited time, term of the operation recovery, complication, and
additional cost caused by the complication; there is a significant correlation between the
marital status of the patients and the doctor's information about the items of the
importance of the operation; and there is no significant correlation between sex and
residence and the doctor's information.
It is suggested to the Director of RSUP H. Adam Malik to rethink about informed
consent procedure, should to be improved about the standardized that doctors should to tell the
patient about the informed consent. This is very useful to avoid the conflict between doctors
and patients at the post operative period.
