gampong atau desa. Batas-batas wilayah Provinsi Aceh,
sebelah Utara dan Timur berbatasan dengan Selat Malaka, sebelah Selatan
dengan Provinsi Sumatera Utara dan sebelah
Barat dengan
Samudera Indonesia.
Satu-satunya hubungan
darat hanyalah
dengan Provinsi
Sumatera Utara, sehingga memiliki ketergantungan yang cukup tinggi
dengan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Luas Provinsi Aceh 5.677.081 ha,
dengan hutan sebagai lahan terluas yang mencapai 2.270.080 ha, diikuti
lahan
perkebunan rakyat
seluas 700.350 ha. Sedangkan lahan industri
mempunyai luas terkecil yaitu 2.096 ha. Lokasi suaka alamobjek wisata alam di
Provinsi Aceh ada di dua belas lokasi, yaitu Taman Buru Lingga Isaq, Cagar
Alam Serbajadi, Taman Wisata dan Taman Laut Pulau Weh Sabang, Cagar
Alam Jantho, Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser, Taman Wisata Alam Kepulauan
Banyak, Suaka Margasatwa Rawa Singkil, Taman Wisata Alam Jantho,
Taman Wisata Alam Aceh Besar, Taman Hutan Raya Pocut Meurah Intan,
Taman Hutan Raya Subulussalam dan Taman Hutan Raya Simeulue.
