2.3 Theoretical Framework

From the previous discussion, I make brief conclusion from both previous studies and theoretical studies. There are some researchers who have conducted research about personal pronouns. Personal pronouns are pronouns to be replaced a noun or a noun phrase that makes a sentence clearly from the context. There are five types of them. They are subjective, objective, possessive, possessive adjective, and reflexive pronouns. The researchers investigated them using some methods. The methods are true experimental research, quantitative descriptive, action research, and both of quantitative and qualitative approach. This study uses qualitative descriptive research, especially case-study. I explain the result of the data by describing the data. Gilham 2000:10 argues “Qualitative methods focus primarily on the kind of evidence what people tell you, what they do that will enable you to understand the meaning of what is going on”. This study will be looking for evidences and theories about that case. The case study researcher must strive to keep an open mind, to go on looking for data, deferring analysis until the array is comprehensive. Case-study is a method that used to narrow down a very broad field of research into one easily researchable topic. Gilham 2000:10 states “Case study is a main method, within sub-methods are used: interviews, observation, document, record, analysis, and soon”. This study does some sub-methods containing observation, interview, document, and analysis of the data.
