ABSTRAK
HAYATULLAH FRIO MARTEN. Gambaran Leukosit Domba Ekor Tipis yang
Diinfeksi Haemonchus contortus. Dibimbing oleh YUSUF RIDWAN.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh infeksi Haemonchus
contortus terhadap perubahan gambaran leukosit pada domba ekor tipis. Sebanyak
20 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan dikelompokkan ke dalam lima kelompok. Satu
kelompok kontrol dan empat kelompok infeksi larva infektif sebanyak 500 L3, 1000
L3, 2000 L3 dan 4000 L3. Sampel darah dan tinja diambil setiap minggu mulai
sebelum sampai minggu ketiga pasca infeksi. Sampel darah diambil menggunakan
venoject® dari vena jugularis, sedangkan sampel tinja diambil langsung dari rektum.
Sampel darah diperiksa untuk mengetahui jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit,
sedangkan sampel tinja untuk menghitung jumlah telur tiap gram tinja. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa infeksi Haemonchus contortus menyebabkan
peningkatan jumlah leukosit namun tidak berbeda nyata antar tingkat dosis infeksi
(P>0.05). Tingkat dosis infeksi yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap
peningkatan jumlah eosinofil (P0.05). Jumlah telur tiap gram
tinja (TTGT) berkorelasi positif nyata terhadap profil jumlah eosinofil dan
berkorelasi negatif yang nyata terhadap profil jumlah neutrofil (P0.05).

ABSTRACT
HAYATULLAH FRIO MARTEN. The White Blood Cell Profile of Infected
Javanese Thin Tailed Sheep with Haemonchus contortus. Supervised by YUSUF
RIDWAN.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Haemonchus contortus
infection to white blood cell profile of Javanese thin tail sheep. Twenty males
Javanese thin tailed sheep were divided into five groups, namely infected group of
500 L3, 1000 L3, 2000 L3, 4000 L3 and uninfective group as control. The blood and
fecal samples were collected from rectum before and three weeks after infection.
The blood samples were collected using venoject® from Jugular vein. The fecal
samples were collected directly from rectum. The blood samples were examined to
determine total of white blood cell (leukocytes) and white blood cell differential,
whereas fecal samples to determine egg per gram. The result showed that
Haemonchus contortus infections cause an increased total of leukocyte but were
not significantly different among of level infection doses (P>0.05). Number of
eosinophils were significantly different among uninfected group (P0.05). There where positively correlated significantly between the amount of
