ABSTRACT
MIKE NUR ANNISA. Evaluation of Body Weight and Lipid Profile (Total
plasma cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL) in Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca
fascicularis) With High Fat Diet and Nicotine Intervention. Under supervision
of R. P. AGUS LELANA and ERNI SULISTIAWATI.
The purpose of this study were to obtain information about body weight and
lipid profile of 15 male Long-tailed macaques, before and after per oral
nicotine. Animals were devided in three groups with different compount of diet,
diet type A (tallow), diet type B (tallow and yolk egg) and diet type C (commercial
diet-Monkey chow). Each groups consisted of five monkeys. The study used a
complete randomized design (ANOVA) to analyzes of body weight and lipid
profile. There was not significant decrease (p>0.05) in the values of body weight.
However, based on the lipid analysis revealed that there were significant increase
in total plasma cholesterol concentration (p
