ABSTRAK
Korean Wave menjadi salah satu contoh fenomena global. Korean Wave atau Hallyu adalah
kata yang diberikan untuk penyebaran kultur pop Korea diseluruh dunia, seperti di Indonesia,
yang telah menghipnotis ribuan orang terutama remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui Leisure Involvement pada remaja laki-laki dan perempuan. Leisure Involvement
adalah tingkat motivasi, arousal, atau ketertarikan terhadap sebuah aktivitas rekreasi atau
suatu produk, dalam hal ini selebriti dijadikan sebagai objek Leisure Involvement bagi para
penggemarnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan subjek 31 untuk lakilaki dan 31 untuk perempuan. Hasil penelitian mengatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara
remaja laki-laki dan perempuan dengan skor hasil uji t -5.891 dengan signifikansi 0,000 ( p <
0,05). Skor per aspek menjelaskan bahwa skor perempuan lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki
terutama pada aspek Attraction dengan skor 4,339. Pada aspek Centrally dan Self-Expression,
kedua grup memiliki urutan yang sama meski skor subjek perempuan lebih tinggi dibanding
laki-laki dengan skor 3,605 untuk Centrally dan 3,694 untuk Self-Expression.

ABSTRACT
Korean Wave fever became one of globalization phenomenon. Korean Wave or hallyu was
the term given for the spread of Korean Pop culture globally over the world, such as in
Indonesia, which has been hypnotized thousand of humans especially teenager. The purpose
of this study was to know about Leisure Involvement in boys and girls. Leisure Involvement is
state of motivation, arousal or interest toward a recreational activity or associated product,
in this study celebrity is become an object of Leisure Involvement for their fans. This research
was a quantitative study with 31 subject for boys and 31 girls. Result of this study said that
there’s difference between girls and boys with score of Independent t-Test -5.891 with
significance 0,000 ( p < 0,05). Score per aspect explain that score for girls is higher than
boys particularly Attraction aspect with 4,339. For other aspect Centrally and SelfExpression both have same level even score for girl higher than boys with 3,605 for Centrally
and 3,694 for Self-Expression.
