I. Introduction to KOICA
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is the official donor
agency of the Republic of Korea, under the authority of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Korean Government.
The main objective of KOICA is to maximize the effectiveness of Korea's
grant
aid programs for developing countries by implementing the
government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs, including for
Indonesia.
KOICA Indonesia Office was established in 1992
In Indonesia, KOICA Indonesia Office gives the priority to three main
areas:
(1) Infrastructure and Economic Development,
(2) Good Governance and IT Development, and
(3) Environment Protection and Transportation Development.

II. CIAT
WHAT IS CIAT
CIAT is pronounced “siat” (씨앗) in Korean means Seed
Objective: to Share important technical skills and knowledge as well
as to build capacities for sustainable socio economic
development of partner countries
Target: Partner countries’ Policy Makers and the technical Staff
members

- Programs that are based on the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and policy priorities of the
recipient country.
- Programs that are customized for each recipient country reflecting its reality and demands.
Regional
- Programs that aim for solving regional shared development tasks in a region (target member
nations grouped by continent, language or local community).
Global
- Programs that reflect several types of demand based on Korea's comparative advantages and
foreign policy strategies.
Shortterm
- Less than three months
- Three months to one year.
Mid-term - Mainly for the science and engineering field which requires technology transfers, certificate
acquirement,
Long-term - More than one year. - Professional programs such as scholarship programs.
Regular
- Programs that are entrusted to domestic organizations with KOICA finances.
Means of Cooperative - Programs that are financed collaboratively by KOICA and other donating nations or by
KOICA and third nations.
Cooperation
- Programs where KOICA and international organizations or regional organizations share the

I. Introduction to KOICA
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is the official donor
