DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS
No. 525/2001 DATED DeCember 10, 2001
ON
APPOINMENT OF THE STATE-OWNED MONEY PRINTING
COMPANY (PERUM PERURI) AS THE EXECUTOR OF PRINTING OF
HALAL LABELS
THE MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS,
Considering :
a. that in the framework of providing certainty on the condition of halal (eligible according
to Islamic laws) of food packaged and traded in Indonesia, it is necessary to maintain the
originality and intactness of halal labels put on every packages of the matter;
b. to maintain the originality and intactness as meant in letter a, and as the implementation
of the provision of Article 10 and Article 12 of Decree of the Minister of Religious
Affairs No. 518/2001 on Guidelines and Procedures of the Auditing and Stipulation of
Halal Foods, it is necessary to stipulate a printing company capable of making halal
labels in the form which is not easy to be damaged and can not be falsified;
c. that because the state-owned money printing company (PERUM PERURI) is a state
enterprise in the field of the printing of security documents with a capability in the field
of printing security and technology not owned by other party, is necessary to appoint the
company as the executor of the printing of halal labels as meant in letter b;
d. that for the matter, is necessary to stipulate it in a ministerial decree.

9. Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs No.518/2001 on Guidelines and Procedures
for Auditing and Stipulating Halal Food.
DECIDES :
To stipulate :
THE DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS ON THE APPOINTMENT OF
THE STATE-OWNED MONEY PRINTING COMPANY (PERUM PERURI) AS THE
EXECUTOR OF PRINTING OF HALAL LABELS.
Article 1
Appointing the State-Owned Money Printing Company (PERUM PERURI) as the executor of
the printing of halal labels put on every package of halal foods to be traded in Indonesia;
Article 2
Further provisions on the execution of the activity as meant in Article 1 will be regulated in an
agreement between the Minister of Religious Affairs and the State-Owned Money Printing
Company (PERUM PERURI);
Article 3
The cost of the execution of the activity as meant in Article 1 is born to concerned food
producers or importers.
Article 4
This decree starts to be effective on the date of stipulation.
