In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious one, I have finally finished my study
with this research paper.

It is submitted to English Education Department of

Indonesian University of Education as a partial requirement to achieve Sarjana

Sastra Degree. The present study, “Comprehending Agent and Agentless Types of
English Active and Passive Voice by Indonesian learners of English”, discusses the
way learners of English comprehend English active and passive voices, specifically in
the notion of agent and agentless types.
The present study is expected to enrich linguistic references about the second
language learning. Nevertheless, the writer realizes that the study is far from
perfection. Hence, comments, suggestions and criticism are highly encouraged for the
better research in the future.
Lastly, the writer greatly hopes that the present study may give contribution to
those who are working in the field of Linguistics.
