Evaluasi Sifat Biologi Tanah Tanaman Kopi Arabika (Coffea arabica L.) di Beberapa Kecamatan di Kabupaten Mandailing Natal

ABSTRACT
Coffee is one of the agricultural commodities that has a sufficiently high economic
value. Mandailaing Natal is the one of the coffee-producing areas in Indonesia. This
study aimed to evaluate the biological properties of the soil, among others organic
carbon, total nitrogen, total soil respiration and total soil microorganisms to the
production of coffee. This study conducted using survey method. Samples were taken
at random method deliberately based on deployment coffee plants from various
altitudes. The measured parameters were soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, soil
respiration and total soil microorganisms. Data were tested with the data assuming a
classic, correlation and regression analysis. The results showed that the biological
properties of soil associated with the production were not significant. The
correlation between biological properties of the soil with the production of coffee
was low.
