ABSTRAK
Domba Wonosobo merupakan rumpun domba hasil persilangan antara
Domba Texel, Domba Ekor Gemuk (DEG), dan Domba Ekor Tipis (DET).
Beberapa sifat kualitatif Domba Wonosobo hampir serupa dengan Domba Texel,
sedangkan, sifat kuantitatif nya merupakan gabungan antara DEG dan DET,
sehingga selalu menghasilkan keturunan yang kemampuan produksinya tidak
serupa dengan Domba Texel. Sifat kualitatif antara Domba Wonosobo jantan dan
betina tidak terlihat perbedaan yang signifikan, namun untuk kebutuhan
penelitian, identifikasi sifat kualitatif Domba Wonosobo betina perlu dilakukan.
Penelitian mengenai “Identifikasi Sifat Kualitatif Domba Wonosobo Betina pada
Peternak di Kecamatan Kejajar Kabupaten Wonosobo” telah dilaksanakan pada
Tanggal 21 Agustus 2013 sampai 30 Agustus 2013 di Kecamatan Kejajar
Kabupaten Wonosobo. Tujuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi sifat kualitatif
Domba Wonosobo betina umur tujuh bulan sampai dengan dua tahun. Penelitian
dilakukan dengan metode survai dan pengambilan sampel secata purposive
sampling. Peubah yang diamati akan sifat kualitatif nya adalah Garis Muka,
Bentuk Telinga, Sifat Bertanduk, Garis Punggung, Profil Wol, dan Bentuk Ekor.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Domba Wonosobo Betina memiliki garis muka
cembung 59%, bentuk telinga tegak samping 100%, tidak bertanduk 100%, garis
punggung lurus 54%, profil bulu keriting 85%, dan bentuk ekor sedang 90%.

QUALITATIVE TRAITS IDENTIFICATION OF

ABSTRACT
Wonosobo Sheep is a breed from the result of cross between Texel Sheep,
Fat Tailed Sheep and Thin Tailed Sheep. Some of qualitative traits from mostly
Wonosobo Sheep population are nearly similar with Texel Sheep, although, its
quantitative traits are the result of cross between Fat Tailed Sheep and Thin Tailed
Sheep then invariably generate crossbreed which production capability can’t be
similar with Texel Sheep, there are no significance differences that shown
between rams and ewes qualitative traits, still, in order to fulfill the needs of the
research, identification for qualitative traits of Wonosobo Ewes is necessary to be
done. The research about “Identification Qualitative Traits Of Wonosobo Ewes on
Farmers in Kejajar, Wonosobo” was conducted on August 21st 2013- August 30st
2013 at Kejajar, Wonosobo. It was aimed to identify the qualitative traits of
Wonosobo Ewes. It used survey method with purposive sampling for sampling.
Observed variables of qualitative traits is Head Profile, Ear Profile, Horn Profile,
Back Profile, Hair Profile, and Tail Shape. From the results of the research,
Wonosobo Ewes have convex head profile (59%), horizontal ear profile (100%),
hornless horn profile (100%), straight back profile (54%), curly hair profile
(85%), and medium tail shape (90%).
