Komunikasi Interpersonal Antara Konselor-Konseli Pada Program VCT HIV.
ABSTRAK
Dian Dwijayanti, 210110110597. Hubungan Masyarakat, Fakultas Ilmu
Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran. Dengan judul penelitian “Komunikasi
Interpersonal antara Konselor-Konseli Pada Program VCT HIV”. Dr. Hj. Susanne
Dida, MM, sebagai pembimbing utama dan Kokom Komariyah, Dra., M.Si.,
sebagai dosen pendamping. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna
program VCT HIV, Interaksi pada program VCT HIV, dan simbol yang
dipertukarkan pada program VCT HIV.
Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif
dengan pendekatan Interaksi Simbolik. Selain itu, informan yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari sepuluh orang informan, yang terdiri dari lima
informan konselor dan lima informan konseli yang pernah melakukan VCT HIV.
Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah makna yang didapatkan
dari konselor dan konseli pada program VCT HIV ini sangat beragam sesuai
dengan tingkat pendidikan yang mereka miliki, selain itu interaksi yang dilakukan
konselor sangat penting untuk merubah perilaku konseli dari tidak ingin
melakukan menjadi ingin melakukan VCT HIV, dan simbol atau istilah yang
ditukarkan oleh konselor kepada konseli sebagian besar sudah dipahami oleh
konseli dan sebagian besarnya lagi masih butuh konseling untuk memahami
istilah tersebut.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa dalam
memaknai program VCT HIV, konselor lebih memaknai program VCT HIV
secara general sedangkan konseli lebih memaknai program VCT HIV secara
personal, hal itu disebabkan dari latar belakang yang berbeda yang dimiliki
konselor dan konseli, tapi ketika konseli dapat melakukan perubahan perilaku
sesuai dengan makna program VCT HIV yang konselor maknai, berarti konseli
dapat memaknai program VCT HIV itu dengan baik. Dalam berinteraksi, konselor
sangat berperan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran konseli melakukan VCT HIV.
Istilah-istilah yang digunakan dalam program VCT HIV sangat penting untuk
dipahami oleh konseli, karena dengan memahami istilah-istilah tersebut konseli
mengetahui apa yang terjadi dalam tubuhnya. Oleh karena itu, peran konselor
sangat penting pada program VCT HIV.

assistant advisor. The purpose of this research was to find is to determine the
meaning of VCT HIV program, Interaction on VCT HIV programs, and symbols
are exchanged VCT HIV program.
In this reasearch the author uses qualitative research methods with
symbolic interaction approach. In addition, informant were used in this research
consisted of ten informant, which consists of five informants counselor and five
informants counselee who ever done VCT HIV.
Results obtained from this study is that the meaning of the counselor and
counselee obtained on HIV VCT program is very varied according to the level of
education they have, besides the interaction is very important counselor to change
the behavior of the counselee does not want to be want to HIV VCT , and symbols
or terms that are exchanged by the counselor to the counselee largely been
understood by most of the counselee and again still need counseling to understand
the term.
Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that the meanings of
VCT HIV counselor program over interpret VCT HIV programs in general, while
more counselees interpret VCT HIV program personally, it is because of the
different backgrounds owned counselor and counselee, but when the counselee
can make changes to behavior in accordance with the meaning of VCT HIV
program expressed counselor, the counselee can interpret the meaning of VCT
HIV program was well. In the interact, counselors greatly contribute to raising
awareness counselee of VCT HIV. The terms used in VCT HIV program is very
important to understand the counselee, because by understanding these terms
counselee know what's going on in his body. Therefore, the counselor's role is
very important in VCT HIV program.
