DARI LIMBAH STYROFOAM, ASPAL,
SERAT PINANG DAN PASIR HITAM

ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pembuatan dan karakterisasi genteng komposit
polimer menggunakan campuran pasir hitam, aspal, serat pinang, styrofoam dan
poliester. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi komposisi
terhadap karakteristik genteng. Komposisi poliester, aspal, styrofoam yang
digunakan tetap, yaitu 29%, 5% dan 1% dari berat total sampel 100%, sedangkan
komposisi pasir hitam dan serat pinang divariasikan dengan perbandingan; (65% :
0%), (64% : 1%), (63% : 2%) dan (62% : 3%). Karakterisasi yang dilakukan
meliputi pengujian densitas, porositas, daya serap air, uji kekuatan lentur dan uji
impak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik genteng sangat dipengaruhi
oleh fraksi berat serat. Karakteristik optimum dicapai pada komposisi

(29:5:1:64:1)%, dan diperoleh kerapatan 2,54 gr/cm , porositas 12,36%, daya

serap air 5,24%, kekuatan lentur 11,594 MPa, kekuatan impak 4985,9 J/m .

CHARACTERISTIC PHYSIC AND MECANIC POLYMER COMPOSITES
OF STYROFOAM WASTE, ASPHALT, NUT FIBER AND BLACK SAND

ABSTRACT

The research on the manufacture and characterization of polymer composite tile
using a mixture of black sand, asphalt, nut fiber, styrofoam waste and polyester
has been done. This reset aims to determine the effect of variations in composition
the characteristics of the tile roofed. The composition of polyester, asphalt,
styrofoam is made constant, of 29%, 5% and 1% of the total weight of the sample
100%, while the composition of black sand and nut fiber varied by comparison;
(65% : 0%), (64% : 1%), (63% : 2%) and (62% : 3%). Characterization testing
performed included density, porosity, water absorption, flexural test and impact
test. The results show that the characteristics of the tile is strongly influenced by
the weight fraction of fiber. The optimum characteristics are achieved in the

composition (29:5:1:64:1)%, and obtained 2,54 gr/cm density, porisity 12,36%,
water absorption 5,24%, flexural strength of 11,594 MPa, impact strength of
