Clothing
Students usually dress informally to
go to campus. Most of the time they wear
jeans or trousers with casual shirts, T-shirts or
blouses, and sneakers. However, shorts and
sandals are usually not allowed for attending
classes. During the rainy season, a jumper/
sweater/pullover or sweat shirt will be sufficient.
Men’s suit and appropriate dress or suit for
women is commonly worn in formal functions

Transportation
Bus

Bis (buses) are the most common means of Train

air-conditioned express class. Trains to other major cities
in Java leave from Gambir, Senen, and Jatinegara stations. Some trains can be booked in advance. Trains have
been a comfortable means of transportation for inter-city
travel with reasonable price.

Taxis


Taxis are easily found almost everywhere in
the streets of Jakarta. Taking a taxi could be as
reliable as using a personal car. At 'flag fall' the meter
(argo) starts at Rp 5,000 (for regular taxi).

ATMs are usually available in malls, shopping centers, and other strategic
business areas. It operates with widely accepted international credit and debit
cards affiliated with: Alto, Maestro, Cirrus, Plus, Master Card & Visa.
Money Transfer
Western Union services are available in many business areas to facilitate money transfer from overseas to customer in Indonesia. Some banks, such as

Bank Mandiri, have joint-cooperation with Western Union.
Money Changer
Money changers are located throughout such as shopping malls, department
stores and hotels. It is recommended to bring clean and unmarked money.
Otherwise, the money changers will refuse to give exchange or deduct the exchange rate. Local banks often give exchange rates that may be better.

Telecommunication
There are many telecommunication providers that you
can choose for your cellular phone. Most of them usually have many to offer beside basic phone and short
messaging service, such as Multimedia service and
internet broadband service. To name a few, there are
Telkomsel GSM cellular provider which offers prepaid
card named ‘Simpati’, ‘Kartu AS’, and post-paid card
called ‘Kartu Halo’. There is also Excelcomindo that
