A. Aims
By the end of this course students are expected to be able to have:
!. A good understanding of basic English structure,
2. Skills of constructing correct English sentences,
3. Ability to recognize mistakes in sentences and correct them,
4. Positive attitude to English sentence structure.
B. Course Description
This course deals with basic structure of English sentences with emphasis on nouns,
tenses and verb groups.
C. Organization of Teaching/Learning Activities
Introduction and discussion about the syllabus are conducted in this session. The
topics are sequenced from simple to complicated, when possible. Lecturing will be the
technique in delivering the theory of English sentence structure and then students are
assigned to do structured work both individually and in small groups in the classroom or at
home. Class discussions will be used to discuss students’ work.
